Standards

Below are standards that we use to evaluate organizations for inclusion in this section.  If your organization has a program in place that meets or exceeds these standards, please e-mail us at info@getfinancialfinesse.org to get the application process started.  We require an interview with the program manager, samples of curriculum and program materials, bios of all financial educators involved in the program, and a written certification of results.

For existing programs:

  • Programs must be entirely unbiased, delivered by a firm that does not have any conflicts of interest, sell any financial products or services or manage any assets.
  • Programs must be delivered by qualified professionals who have appropriate designations, experience and expertise for curriculum they are delivering.  Organization or education provider must have thorough process in place for screening, hiring and training financial education presenters or financial counselors, tracking performance of these professionals, and providing ongoing career development to ensure professionals increase and maintain their knowledge and expertise.
  • Programs must be comprehensive and ongoing, available free of charge to ALL employees or members.
  • Programs must have achieved strong results:
    • Behavioral change of 80% or more of program participants making key changes to their financial situations, tracked through a proven, unbiased measurement process.
    • Exceptionally strong employee feedback, captured by surveys and testimonials.

For new programs:

  • Must be a program that could pave the way for an entire industry, by establishing best practices for financial education within that industry.
  • Program must be comprehensive and ongoing, available free of charge to ALL employees or members.
  • Programs must be entirely unbiased, delivered by HR or training professionals at the company or by an education firm that does not have any conflicts of interest, sell any financial products or services, manage any assets.
  • Programs must be delivered by qualified professionals who have appropriate designations, experience and expertise for curriculum they are delivering.  Organization or education provider must have thorough process in place for screening, hiring and training financial education presenters or financial counselors, tracking performance of these professionals, and providing ongoing career development to ensure professionals increase and maintain their knowledge and expertise.
