Even though we were away, financial literacy in America hasn’t skipped a beat.
Some highlights from the past week.
- A recent poll, conducted by the NYSUT, showed that 74% of their members felt that financial literacy should be a graduation requirement.
- The U.S. Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau and Wi$eUp, a financial education program designed for Generation X and Y Women, recently held a teleconference on Helping Low-Income Individuals and Families Build Financial Resources. They hold teleconferences several times a year on different financial topics.
- A new program at Southeast Missouri State University is aimed at providing financial literacy, education and resources for students. One on one counseling will be available for students as well and can be scheduled from their Web site.
